Control Panel Walkthrough
From Lunarpages Web Hosting Wiki
The LPQuicksite's control panel has got me a little confused. Could you explain what all of these features mean or do?
The control panel setup for the LPQuicksite plans is pretty straight forward with it's options and controls. Breaking things into three sections you have your "Stats", "Mail", and then the two main links to get to the Lunarpages Customer Account Page (CAP) and to get to the web site editor (the "Login here to edit your site" link).
Stats
Main Domain: This is your domain name you use with your LPQuicksite plan.
Home Directory: This is your location as it relates to the server you are on. More often than not, you will not need to know this but it does also provide your user name so that is handy to have.
Disk Space Usage: Here you have your estimated disk space usage. The number in front is how much you have used so far and the number in back is the limit on the account.
Monthly Bandwidth Transfer: This is the estimated amount of bandwidth you have used for the current month. The number in front is the total you have used thus far and the number behind is the limit for your LPQuicksite plan.
E-mail Accounts: This shows the number of e-mail accounts you have setup so far for your hosting account and how many you can setup.
Auto Responders: The Auto Responders section is to show how many e-mail auto responders you have setup thus far.
E-mail Forwarders: This section shows you the number of e-mail forwards that you have setup on your LPQuicksite plan.
Shared IP Address: This gives you the IP address used for the server that you are on. This IP address is shared with the others hosted on the same server you are on.
Email Accounts: This link leads you to your email management area. In this area, you can manage the email accounts associated with your domain.
Webmail: The Webmail link takes you to your access location for your webmail access to your e-mail account. Webmail access lets you access your e-mail in any browser by just logging into your account. No client needed!
Box Trapper: This feature protects your inbox from spam by forcing all people not on your white list to reply to a verification email before they can send mail to you.
Spam Assassin: Spam Assassin is an automated email filtering system that attempts to identify spam messages based on the content of the email's headers and body.
Auto Responders: You can use auto responders to send a message back automatically to anyone who sends an email to a certain account.
User Level Filtering: In this area you can manage filters for each user. Each user filter is processed after the main account filters.
Account Level Filtering: In this area you can manage filters for all e-mail on your main account.
As you can see, even for a limited control panel in comparison with some of our more advanced hosting plans the LPQuicksite Control Panel stacks up. It delivers easy of use while still coming in a champ with all the features a basic user needs.
