Android Exchange Setup

This guide is for assisting you in setting up Exchange email on your Android Smartphone for Basic Exchange Accounts.

If you would like to set up your Basic Exchange Account on Microsoft Outlook, please see Outlook Setup for Exchange for instructions.

If you have a Premium Exchange Account please see Android Exchange Premium Setup for instructions.

1. Find the Settings Application on your phone in the app drawer of your phone.

If you haven't set up an email account before you can open your "email" app in your app drawer and it will take you to this step

2. Once you have that open you should find a setting called Accounts.

3. This screen will have all the accounts you have set up so far on your phone, We are going to Add Account for your Exchange email account.

4. On this screen you will see a list of different accounts you can set up on your phone, But you'll want to find Personal (IMAP/POP3)

On Some Android phones this may be the only option, but on the next screen you can also choose POP3 as an email type.

5. Input your email address and click Manual Setup

6. You will then choose if you want your account to be a POP3 or IMAP account. Note: Only Advance Basic and Premium Exchange accounts can select Exchange as the option as they support ActiveSync, Lunarpages Basic Exchange accounts do not support ActiveSync.

7. Enter in your password on the next screen when you have selected the account type.

8. Incoming Server Settings (POP3 / IMAP)

  • Username: (Your email address)
  • Password: (Your email password)
  • Server:
  • Security Type: SSL/TLS
  • You will use the following ports depending if you're using IMAP or POP3
  • IMAP: 993
  • POP3: 995
  • IMAP path prefix: Leave Blank (If your device asks)

9. Outgoing Server Settings (POP3 and IMAP)

  • SMTP Server:
  • Port: 587
  • Security Type: None
  • Require sign in: Check
  • Username: (Your email address)
  • Password: (Your email password)

10. This next option you can set your final account options. With IMAP you have the extra option to download attachments when connected to Wi-Fi, POP3 does not have this option as it will already download the email with the attachment.
