Anybody with a computer can tell you that antivirus protection is definitely a good thing. The same could be said for e-mail antivirus protection on the server side of things. You can activate this tool per e-mail address via your Plesk control panel.
How to Turn on E-mail Antivirus Protection in Plesk
The first thing you will need to do is login to your Plesk control panel. From there, click on the domain name for the e-mail address you wish to activate antivirus protection. Now, click on the icon labeled "Mail".
On the mail names for this domain screen you will need to select the specific e-mail address you wish to add antivirus protection to. Once there, look for the antivirus icon:
You have a few choices when it comes to checking for mail viruses. You can set it up to:
- Disabled - no antivirus protection turned on
- Incoming and outgoing mail - checks both incoming and outgoing mail for viruses
- Incoming mail only - checks only incoming mail for viruses
- Outgoing mail only - checks only outgoing mail for viruses
You can only select one, and that will becoming your new way of scanning mail for viruses. Once you have selected the one you want, hit the "OK" button and you are done. You can also use the steps above to change your settings to something else if needed.
