FTP Accounts in LPCP

Giving you many different ways to manage your FTP access to your hosting account, LPCP's FTP account creation, editing and deleting is very straight forward and easy to learn. How to Create an FTP Account
To create an FTP account, you must log into your LPCP account for your web hosting plan, and then under Your Site, click on the FTP Accounts link. That will take you to the FTP Accounts Manager. The first step is to click on the "Add New" link at the top of the page. Next, you will see a screen that gives you all thing settings you need to fill out to create your new FTP account.
- Select Domain: select the domain you wish to create the FTP account under.
- Username: create a user name for this particular FTP account you are creating.
- Password: create a password for this particular FTP account you are creating.
- Re-enter New Password: give your unique password again.

How to Setup a Folder Path
You have several choices when it comes to the folder text box and how to fill it in, to meet your needs.
- No Folder Name
If you do not give a specific folder name and leave this text box empty, then the FTP account created will be for the virtual root of your hosting account including everything outside of public_html and the public_html folder specifically.
- Single Folder Name
This will give you a single folder inside what would be considered the "root" section of your web hosting plan, outside of the public_html folder.
- Full Folder Name
If you want to point to a specific folder, be sure to get the full path, such as /public_html/myusercreatedftpfolder/.
- Special Rules for Addon Domains
Even if you select and addon domain from the "Select Domain:" drop down box, you must point to that addon domain's folder if you create a new FTP account for it. An example of this would be, /public_html/addondomainname/.
Once you have filled out these settings, and confirmed they are all correct, hit the button labeled, "Add". If added correctly, you should get a message that reads "FTP Account created". You now have your own unique FTP account for this web hosting plan.
- Please note: Remember to login with your full FTP account user name (example: firstname.lastname@example.org) rather than just the user name on user created FTP accounts.
How to Edit an FTP Account
To edit an FTP account, you must log into your LPCP account for your web hosting plan, and then under Your Site, click on the FTP Accounts link. That will take you to the FTP Accounts Manager.
Once you have created at least one FTP account, you should see them listed here. To edit one, click the, "Configure" link that matches up with that specific account.
On the next screen, you can reset the password for that specific FTP account. After you have done so, click the button labeled, "Update" and your changes will be saved.
How to Delete an FTP Account
To delete an FTP account, you must log into your LPCP account for your web hosting plan, and then under Your Site, click on the FTP Accounts link. That will take you to the FTP Accounts Manager.
Click the link that says, "Delete" that matches up with the FTP account you wish to remove. Once you have done so, you will be asked to confirm your decision to remove that specific FTP account, and then it will have been removed from your FTP account.
- Please note: When you remove an FTP account, the folder created (if one was created) for that user name will remain on your account until you delete it via the LPCP File Manager.
